Parents Day

So last Friday, we celebrated our first Parents Day. What is Parents Day, you ask? It's a day that 3 sets of parents decided to take the day off and enjoy SF. We kept our kids in their normal childcare and didn't go to work. We went out to brunch at Brenda's. Then, the women went shopping in Union Square while the guys went to get drinks. Matilde was deliriously happy. I was looking forward to just not working and being able to finish a conversation without distraction.

I did feel a little guilty. It's a day that I left Lukas and it was not necessary. We didn't limit ourselves and say that we couldn't talk about the kids. Of course we talked about the kids. We love our kids, why wouldn't we want to talk about them? It's just that we were able to talk about them to each other.

After shopping, we went out to a late lunch at Swan Depot for a seafood extravaganza. By the time we finished, it was time to leave the city to return to our children and start our weekend a little early. Here's a photo commemorating the event:
