What day is it?

I can't remember the last time I posted. It's been a long time. Well, a lot has happened since my last post. I finished working at my old job at IRI. I had a week off in between jobs, but unfortunately, I didn't have a computer, so I couldn't connect to the internet. We have had a busy month because Jeannette came in for a whirlwind visit at the end of Sept. She came on my last day at work, so we went to the spa together to celebrate. Then, on 9/29, we participated on a float in Love Fest, a house music parade. I'll get around to posting pictures someday... We also got to take her out for an early birthday dinner. We're hoping that she and John move the the Bay Area, so it was a big sell weekend. Her bday is the same as Alex's. Happy belated, guys!

My mom also came to visit the week after from 10/2-10/6. It was nice and relaxing and I got to show my mom around Alameda while running some errands during my week off. Then, we got to celebrate Kaori's birthday in Central Park in San Mateo. It was a lot of fun just hanging out with friends, enjoying the nice weather, and chatting all day. It seems to be getting harder and harder to schedule things.

I started my new job last week and I am loving it. The people are really great. I'm excited about the project that I am working on. I feel like it's been a while since I have been this excited or happy about my job. Maybe it's still the honeymoon phase, but I really have no regrets at this point and I know that it was the right decision.

Speaking of honeymoon, we are already nearing our one year anniversary. Can you believe it? This week is going to be a short work week because we are taking off Thursday and Friday to go to New Orleans to celebrate. I'm so excited for some gumbo, jambalaya, and beignets!

House update- so we have removed the wallpaper from the second bedroom. It only took us about 4 sessions. The first session of course was the longest, but it really wasn't that bad and we finished on Sat. Next up is painting. We've been struggling with paint colors, but we are thinking a reddish/burnt sienna color for the entry. For the living room/dining room, we'll probably do a tan/beige color. For the guest bedroom, we are thinking of a sage color. We know we want a light blue for the bathroom, but we are waiting until the renovations are done before we paint it. We have some really cool renovations plans, but I'll tell you more about it at another time. We're not starting until Jan anyway, so I'll have plenty of time to talk about those details.
